Configure Menus and Web pages

The menu settings provides a way to manage menus and corresponding web pages. Website Template provides different kinds of templates. The layout of the page is determined by the specified template.

Website Template provides a default root menu called Home. All other menus are depends on this root menu. The name of the root menu can be changed to a desired one. Website Template allows to add any number of menu items, but the levels are restricted to five for the best view.

 In order to perform these tasks, you might need to logged on as an admin user or a member of the admin category.

The main actions are:


New Menu Settings


The New Menu Page is used to add a new menu item to the website. The new menu item will be added under the selected menu item of the tree. The admin user can either add a menu without entering its details(empty menu) or add a menu along with its details. The style of the page is determined by the selected template.

To add a new menu item

  1. Click the New Menu button from the Admin Home page.
  2. Select the parent menu from the menu tree.
  3. In Menu Name, enter the name for your new menu.
  4. Check the Use Template checkbox, to enable the template types.
  5. Select a template type and choose a template from the Template List.
  6. Click the Add button.

Notes

  • You must be logged on as an admin user or member of the admin category in order to complete this procedure.
  • If you would like to create an empty menu, use stepts 1, 2 and 5.
  • If more than one menu is selected, the first selected menu will be considered as the parent.
  • If you would like to hide the new menu from the horizontal and vertical menu bar, uncheck the Show in Menu Bar checkbox.
  • If you would like to give the page content for a menu, select the menu from the menu tree and then click the Details button.
  • While displaying menu items in the menu bars, the home menu (root) and its child menus will be considered as the main menus.
  • Admin user is allowed to add any number of menu items, but the levels are restricted to five for the best view.


Edit Menu Settings

The Edit Menu page allows the administrator to choose a menu item for editing. The page will be then re-directed to corresponging settings page of the selected menu item. The content of this settings page depends upon the template used for creating the menu item. The settings page displays currently available details. The user can edit the details and update it.The settings page also allows to edit another menu item.

To edit a menu item

  1. Click the Edit Menu button from the Admin Home page.
  2. Check the desired menu item from the menu tree.
  3. Click the Edit button.


Notes

  • One of the following settings page will be displayed according to the selected menu.  The settings pages are General Page Template, General Page with Image Template, Overview Page Template, Download Page Template, Photo Gallery Page Template.
  • You must be logged on as an admin user or member of the admin category in order to complete this procedure.
  • If more than one menu is selected, the first selected menu will get the preference.

Arrange Menu

The Arrange Menu allows the administrator to order the child menu items under a specified parent menu. The new order will be reflected on the menu tree and in the horizontal and vertical menu bars.

To arrange child menus under a parent

  1. Click the Arrange Menu button from the Admin Home page.
  2. Check a parent menu from the menu tree.
  3. Click Select button to display the child menus.
  4. Select a menu item from the list of child menus.
  5. Click the appropriate Arrow button to order the menu item.
  6. Click Apply Order button to save the new order.


Notes

  • You must be logged on as an admin user or member of the admin category in order to complete this procedure.
  • If more than one menu is selected, the first selected menu will get the preference.

Delete Menu

The Delete Menu page allows the administrator to delete a menu item and its page content from the wesite. The menu item will be deleted permanently and cannot be retrieved.

To delete a menu item

  1. Click the Delete Menu button from the Admin Home page.
  2. Check the desired menu item from the menu tree.
  3. Click the Delete button.
  4. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK button to delete the selected menu item.


Notes

  • You must be logged on as an admin user or member of the admin category in order to complete this procedure.
  • Parent menu can be deleted only after deleting all its child menus.
  • If more than one menu is selected, the first selected menu will get the preference.
  • It is not possible to delete the root menu (Home).

Configure Header / Footer

Website Template provides a way to manage links in the website. These links makes the webpages quickly accessible.In order to perform these tasks, you might need to logged on as an admin user or a member of the admin category.

Internal Link Settings

Internal links are hyperlinks to web pages which provides easy navigation within the website. Internal Link Settings page is used for configuring and ordering menu items which needs quick access. The menus which are added as internal links will be displayed in the left side of the website, regardless the visibility in the menu bars. The default link name of an internal link will be the menu name.

To add a menu item as an internal link

  1. Click the Internal Links button from the Admin Home page.
  2. Select a menu from the Menus list.
  3. Enter a Link Text if you want to change the name of the link.
  4. Click Insert button to add the menu to the Links list.
  5. Click Save button to save the settings.


Notes

  • You must be logged on as an admin user or member of the admin category in order to complete this procedure.
  • If you want to change the order of available internal links, select a link from the Links list, click appropriate arrow buttons to move the link to the desired positon and then click Save button to save the new arrangement.
  • If you would like to remove unwanted link from the list, select it from the Links list and then click the Remove button. Click Save button to save the settings.
  • If you want to change the link text of an already added link, you may need to remove and re-insert it with new link text.
  • More than one link to the same page is not permitted.

External Link Settings

External links are hyperlinks to web pages which provides easy navigation outside the website. External Link Settings page allows the admin user to add/delete links to other related websites. The page will be loaded with available link items in External Links list.

To add an external link

  1. Click the External Links button from the Admin Home page.
  2. In Link Text, enter the name of the link.
  3. In URL field, enter the website link. (eg. www.yoursitename.com)
  4. Click Add button to save the new external link.

 
To edit an external link

  1. Click the External Links button from the Admin Home page.
  2. Select desired link item from the External Links list.
  3. Click Edit button to display the Link Text and URL.
  4. In Link Text, make the required change.
  5. In URL field, make the required change. (eg. www.newsitename.com)
  6. Click Update button to save the changes.


Notes

  • You must be logged on as an admin user or member of the admin category in order to complete this procedure.
  • If you would like to delete a link, select the desired one from the External Links list and then click Delete button.
  • If you would like to cancel the process while editing, click the Cancel button.
  • Link text must be unique, but the URL can be repeated.
  • If you would like to arrange the external links, select the desired link from the External Links list, click appropriate arrow buttons to arrange the links and then click Save button to save the settings.

Header Link Settings

Header links are hyperlinks to web pages which provides easy navigation within the website. Header links are displayed at the top of the website. The Header and Footer Link Settings allows the administrator to add header and footer links to the website. Admin user can change or hide default links provided by the website. Links that are not intended to include in the menu bars can be shown through the header links. The default link name of a header link will be the menu name.

To add a menu item as header link

  1. Click the Header & Footer Links button from the Admin Home page.
  2. Select the desired menu item from the menu tree.
  3. Enter a Link Text if you want to change the name of the link.
  4. Check the Show in Header checkbx.
  5. Click Insert button to add the menu item to the Header Items list.
  6. Click Save button to save the settings.


To add a default header link

  1. Click the Header & Footer Links button from the Admin Home page.
  2. In the Default Link Settings region, enter Alternate Name for Login/Logout or Sitemap.
  3. Check Show in Header checkbox for Login/Logout or Sitemap.
  4. Click Update button to save the changes.

  • If more than one menu is selected, the first selected menu will get the preference.
  • If you would like to remove unwanted header link, select the desired link from the Header Items list and then click the Remove button. Click Save button to save the settings.
  • If you would like to arrange the header links, select the desired link from the Header Items list, click appropriate arrow buttons to arrange the links and then click Save button to save the settings.

Footer Link Settings

Footer links are hyperlinks to web pages which provides easy navigation within the website. Footer links are displayed at the bottom of the website. The Header and Footer Link Settings allows the administrator to add header and footer links to the website. Admin user can change or hide default links provided by the website. Links that are not intended to include in the menu bars can be shown through the footer links. The default link name of a footer link will be the menu name.

To add a menu item as Footer link

  1. Click the Header & Footer Links button from the Admin Home page.
  2. Select the desired menu item from the menu tree.
  3. Enter a Link Text if you want to change the name of the link.
  4. Check the Show in Footer checkbx.
  5. Click Insert button to add the menu item to the Footer Items list.
  6. Click Save button to save the settings.


To add a default Footer link

  1. Click the Header & Footer Links button from the Admin Home page.
  2. In the Default Link Settings region, enter Alternate Name for Sitemap.
  3. Check Show in Footer checkbox for Sitemap.
  4. Click Update button to save the changes.

Configure Ad/Banner Settings

Allows the admin user to add advertisements in the website. The advertisements will display only if we enabled the Hide All Ad/Banner check box in the Ad/Banner Display Settings is unchecked. The position of the advertisements can be set by advertisement display settings. Advertisement can be displayed either in the home page only or in all pages.

The visibility of advertisements in each position can be regulated in this section. It is possible to restrict the Ad/Banner to the home page only. The bottom ad/banner can be make fixed or scrollable. It will be better to scroll the bottom ad/banners if more than one ads are there.

To configure the Ad/Banner Display Settings

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Check the desired ad/banner types that you want to display in the website.
  3. Uncheck the unwanted ad/banner types that you want to hide from the website.
  4. Click the Update  button to save the settings.

Ad/Banner Item Settings

The Ad/Banner Item Settings allows the admin user to configure the ads/banners in the website. Ads/banners can be placed in four positions - Top, Left, Right and Bottom. Again the left side ads/banners are divided into left single and left double. Similarly the right side ads/banners are divided into right single and right double. In single type ads/banners, only one ad/banner will be displayed in one row where as in double type ads/banners, two ads/banners can be displayed in one row.   4. Bottom Ad/Banner
     

Top Ad/Banner

Allows the admin user to add, edit or delete advertisements that are displayed at the top of the page. But in the web page, it will display only one at a time. How often each ad/banner should be displayed is determined by the Repetition Mode given to that ad/banner while adding it. The Link URL for each ad/banner is not mandatory.

To add Top Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Enter a Name of Ad/Banner.
  3. Check/uncheck the Show checkbox.
  4. Browse Ad/Banner URL.
  5. Enter an Ad/Banner Link URL. (eg. http://www.yoursitename.com)
  6. Select  Repetition Mode.
  7. Enter description about the  Ad/Banner. (For the use of admin user)
  8. Click Add button to add the new Top Ad/Banner.
     

To edit Top Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Select  Ad/Banner from the Available Ad/Banners list.
  3. Click Edit button to make changes for the selected category.
  4. Change the required fields for the ad/banner you want to edit.
  5. Click the Update button to save the changes.
     

To delete Top Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Select  Ad/Banner from the Available Ad/Banners list.
  3. Click Delete button to delete selected ad/banner.

  • You can use files with these file extensions: .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .png.

Left Ad/Banner

 
Allows the admin user to add, edit or delete advertisements that are displayed on the left side of the page. Any number of ads/banners can be given.  The Link URL for each ad/banner is not mandatory. There are two types of left side ads/banners - Left Single type and Left Double type. In single type ads/banners, only one ad/banner will be displayed in one row where as in double type ads/banners, two ads/banners can be displayed in one row.

To add Left Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Click Left Ad/Banner button from the Ad/banner Item Settings.
  3. Select Single Type Ad/Banner or Double Type Ad/Banner.
  4. Enter a name of Ad/Banner.
  5. Check/uncheck the Show checkbox.
  6. Browse Ad/Banner URL.
  7. Enter an Ad/Banner Link URL. (eg. www.yoursitename.com)
  8. Enter description about the  Ad/Banner .
  9. Click Add button to add the new Left Ad/Banner.

To delete Left Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Select  Ad/Banner from the Available Ad/Banners list.
  3. Click Delete button to delete selected ad/banner.   
     

To Apply Order Left Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Click Left Ad/Banner button from the Ad/banner Item Settings.
  3. Select Single Type Ad/Banner or Double Type Ad/Banner from the Available Ads / Banners.
  4. Click the appropriate Arrow button to order the Left Ad/Banner.
  5. Click Apply Order button to save the new order.

Right Ad/Banner

  4. Enter a name of Ad/Banner.
  5. Check/uncheck the Show checkbox.
  6. Browse Ad/Banner URL.
  7. Enter an Ad/Banner Link URL. (eg. www.yoursitename.com)
  8. Enter description about the  Ad/Banner .
  9. Click Add button to add the new Right Ad/Banner.
     

To edit Right Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Click Right Ad/Banner button from the Ad/banner Item Settings.
  3. Select Single Type Ad/Banner or Double Type Ad/Banner.
  4. Select  Ad/Banner from the Available Ad/Banners list.
  5. Click Edit button to make changes for the selected category.
  6. Change the required fields for the ad/banner you want to edit.
  7. Click the Update button to save the changes.
     

To delete Right Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Select  Ad/Banner from the Available Ad/Banners list.
  3. Click Delete button to delete selected ad/banner.
     

To Apply Order Right Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Click Right Ad/Banner button from the Ad/banner Item Settings.
  3. Select Single Type Ad/Banner or Double Type Ad/Banner.
  4. Click the appropriate Arrow button to order the Right  Ad/Banner.
  5. Click Apply Order button to save the new order.

To add Bottom Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Enter a name of Ad/Banner.
  3. Check/uncheck the Show checkbox.
  4. Browse Ad/Banner URL.
  5. Enter an Ad/Banner Link URL. (eg. www.yoursitename.com)
  6. Select a Repetitionmode from the ComboBox.
  7. Enter description about the  Ad/Banner .
  8. Click Add button to add the new Bottom Ad/Banner.
     

To edit Bottom Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Select  Ad/Banner from the Available Ad/Banners list.
  3. Click Edit button to make changes for the selected category.
  4. Change the required fields for the ad/banner you want to edit.
  5. Click the Update button to save the changes.
     

To delete Bottom Ad/Banner:

  1. Click Settings button in the Ad/Banner Settings region from the Admin Home Page.
  2. Select  Ad/Banner from the Available Ad/Banners list.
  3. Click Delete button to delete selected ad/banner.
